finding my place...

Sometimes you just have to take a step back.  See where all the pieces of the puzzle fit.  Looking for ways to make a difference.  How to use my creative 'gift'.

Today...I found one.   For my friend who had a double masectomy on Friday.  It's a little piece of me I can give to her that will touch others.  She is so blessed to have so many friends.  Now she has a beautiful way to express her thanks.

Bunny Bloggin

Things in my life are "hoppin" right now, which doesn't leave much time for blogging or crafting.

However, I signed up for a "secret bunny" exchange at work and we had a lunch today.  I ended up (last minute) making a little bunny treat for all 24 ladies!   Chocolate candy dipped pretzel goodie bags with a crafty little topper.  Turned out cute...and of course they all *loved* them.

...a little bird told me...

That I've been MIA from my blog lately.  So this post is for you...and the others that often check in on me to see what I'm up to.  I don't post much on my blog with personal updates and such...but I'll use this post to bring you all creatively up to date.

I'm sad that my DT postion with Freckle Friends came to an end.  I LOVE their collections!  And it was so fun to play with them each month.   Dispite the economy, FF was a very successful kit club.  The owners have decieded to persue other opportunities and have put the business up for sale.  Speaking of SALE...they are have a HUGE one here.  Great bargins to be had for sure.

So what exactly have I been up to in my spare time?  Creating.  Inventing.  Planning.  Re-freshing.
I've created some unique items for my etsy shop:  ArtBar.   Cork is something I've been wanting to use for some time.  And right now I'm in LOVE with Fabric.  The colors + prints are fresh + exciting to me.  And I love putting a creative twist on my scrapbooking.  I've created some exclusive items just for this purpose and put the "extras" up in the shop.  They are limited and most are one of a kind...so if you see something you like better snatch it up!  Here's some photos...cuz a blog post just isn't the same without photos.

PoP yOuR cOrK over these!

Very delicate embellishments.  I LOVE the bookprint & cork together.  Look for these on my LO's soon!
(I also have some in the shop with MAPprint too)  They are perfect for cards too.

Trying out this idea.  I LOVE to work with mini albums.  The covers on this one is made from cork!
I'm excited about the possibilites.

FABRIC FLAIR
IMG_4444
Ooohhhh!  Just Perfect.  Fresh.  Funky.  Vintage.  So many uses.  Cards, LO's, heck you can even wear them!  I can't wait to see how many ways I can use them.
IMG_4461
And yes...there is even a Fabric Mini album to match!  I'm currently featuring two different fabric collections.  It's so hard to choose just one.  Wouldn't it make a lovely gift album for mothers day or special baby photos?  It was so hard to part with it but I've decided it's better to share.

Over the next few weeks I'm looking forward to doing some creative projects "just for me".  Things I've been collecting have been calling my name to use them!   Also I'll be spending a few days with the kids in Canada visiting family.  Will be good to get away for a bit.

So...I think...that if you are actually reading this blog...you should leave a comment!  Let me know what you think about the new ArtBar items.  Do you have any ideas of things you'd like to see in the shop? Share with me!  From the comments posted on this thread from today thru Mar. 19. I'll pick one winner to receive some goodies from my etsy shop!  Winner will be posted on Friday, Mar. 20.

scrap your phone

After looking at the options for a protective case for my new cell phone, I decided that animal prints or bling just wasn't for me.  But I knew what what was...so I purchased a clear case with a smoky tint added some of "my" personalization to it and now I have the PERFECT case for my phone!

one thing leads to another

This came yesterday!  It was very refreshing to see this light & airy issue.   With the afternoon sun in my living room and the windows open (not typical for Jan..even in CA) I was totally enjoying the moment.  On the very last page I found this...

which inspired me to create this...

Holiday Happiness

It's December and I'm excited for the holiday season to begin.  Here's a peek at an invitation I designed for a party my husband & I are hosting this year.

IMG_3832

IMG_3833 It's made from a greeting card box with a clear lid.  I attached the pp cut to size to the inside back of the box & layered the computer printed text invitation right on top.  Added some buffalo snow {love this stuff} and a couple of glittered confetti snowflakes to shake around inside.  Ribbon hides the tape on the sides & berry picks adorn the top.  Now who wouldn't love to receive an invitation like this one!

359 Merry Days @ Freckle Friends starts today.  It's an album that you work on a little each day and by the end of December you will have a completed album...just pop in your holiday photos!  You can sign up here and follow along with us.   Photos, prompts & inspiration will be e-mailed to you daily.  There is an album available for this project with a customizable acrylic cover & 20 pages, or you can create your own.    Follow along with my album this season here.

Using the goodies in the December Collection kit from FF, I created the cutest little gift card holder.

IMG_3800
It's a little interactive present that opens up to revel the gift card inside.

You can find the instructions posted here  :o)  Once you make one of these you will find yourself making more.  Try changing the papers for birthdays or other holidays.  How cute!
